Michigan Protection & Advocacy Service, Inc. (MPAS) is the independent, private, nonprofit organization designated by the governor of the State of Michigan to advocate and protect the legal rights of people with disabilities in Michigan. MPAS services include information and referral, short-term assistance, selected individual and legal representation, systemic advocacy, monitoring, and training.

SAC works to assist our most vulnerable students stay in school, realize their rights to a quality public education, and experience success. Our services include education advocacy and support, education mentoring (Check and Connect), youth voice, and family support. We believe all students deserve a quality public education and that educators deserve the resources, respect and support to make that happen.

American Academy of Pediatrics

The mission of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is to attain optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. This website contains information on advocacy and policy for families at the federal, state and community levels. Some key topics include, and are not limited to improving children's access to care, nutrition, protecting immigrant children, childhood immunizations and promoting children's mental health.

Deaf Community Advocacy Network (DEAF C.A.N.!) provides services to the thousands of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people living in our area. DEAF C.A.N.! offers direct client services to individuals and families, as well as community education and information for professional groups. DEAF C.A.N.! provides a full array of services to the Deaf & Hard of Hearing communities in southeastern Michigan.

Advocacy & Consultation for Children’s Education Services & Support

A C C E S S Education provides professional education advocacy and consultation services for parents, caregivers, providers and support agencies. Professional Advocate Service to help with IEP Meetings, Special Education, 504 Plans, Suspension, Expulsion, Behavior and Manifestations. This is a paid service, however they do offer a sliding scale for clients.

Advocacy Services for Kids

Advocacy Services for Kids (ASK) assists families and their children who have mood, emotional, and behavioral challenges to understand and navigate services, advocate effectively, and achieve their potential. ASK offers opportunities for youth with emotional, behavioral, and mood disorders to be empowered to impact youth services locally, within the state of Michigan, and nationally through it's Calling All Youth M.O.V.E. program. This service is available to high school aged youth in Kalamazoo County who want to speak up and be heard by adults, teachers, govenmental agencies, therapists, counselors, juvenille justice, schools, and other authority figures in their life.
