St. Francis Camp on the Lake inspires campers to be potent, loving, contributing human beings, through specially designed programs that truly empower the individual camper. We promote personal growth and social evolution by replacing ignorance and fear with awareness and understanding through fun daily activities.
Offers a special needs summer inclusion camp program. Each child with special needs receives a one-on-one counselor and is integrated into cabin groups with all other campers.
In the summer of 2014, The Fowler Center launched a new program for teens and young adults diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. The Life TREX program is an innovative experience that encourages campers to test new behaviors and skills which are targeted to improve independent living, social, and vocational function, in a supportive environment.
Camp experience for campers ages 5-18 who are ventilator-dependent and medically fragile, which is associated with the University of Michigan’s Mott Respiratory Care. Located at the Fowler Center for Outdoor Learning. Limited to 32 campers who must also be able to interact and communicate with other children using speech or sign language.
Provides year-round camping experiences for children & adults with developmental disabilities and special needs in Mayville, MI. Campers participate in traditional camp activities that are completely accessible.
We offer specialized testing and evaluation, programs for children’s language and literacy development, aphasia recovery, academic success, and individual therapy for people of any age facing language and literacy challenges.
A specialized summer day camp for young children with developmental needs. Its purpose is to provide continuity with school year programs and to stimulate the development of cognitive and social skills during the summer months
