Blind Children’s Fund

The Blind Children’s Fund (BCF) exist to help parents of blind children to find the resources they need to raise confident, competent, independent adults. BCF has resources that can encourage and empower you and your child. The BCF website has been designed as a clearinghouse with some “how-to” articles and lots of resources that you can easily find with one-click. BCF purposefully developed their website to help lead you as a parent or a general education teacher with a visually impaired child in your classroom to understand the needs, challenges, and, rewards of teaching a visually impaired child.


Family Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs

The parent-directed section of CSHCS is named the Family Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs. We help shape CSHCS policies and procedures and help families navigate CSHCS. We also offer health resource information and emotional support to all Michigan families of children with special needs. To call on us, enrollment in CSHCS is not required. Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing – Michigan Chapter

The Alexander Graham Bell Association (A.G. Bell) works to advocate, educate, and support the deaf and hard of hearing community, their families and the professionals who work with them. The site has information about activities and events, as well as a wealth of useful resources, such as advocacy, hearing aid loaner and repair programs.

FOD (Fatty Oxidation Disorders) Family Support Group

We are an All Volunteer national and international support group specifically for Fatty Oxidation Disorders and a 501c3 non-profit corporation that raises funds for the training of new FOD Professionals and for future FOD Research, as well as for our daily operations, National Conferences, and probono face-to-face or skype Grief Support for Bereaved Parents, Families, and other adults living with loss from any cause.

A statewide resource to connect families of children with disabilities to resources to help improve their children’s education. Can assist you in knowing your rights, effectively communicating your child’s needs, and advising how to help them develop and learn. Their Parent Mentors can assist you in navigating the educational system and are knowledgeable about state and local resources.
