Disability Rights Michigan is the independent, private, nonprofit organization designated by the governor of the State of Michigan to advocate and protect the legal rights of people with disabilities in. Disability Rights Michigan services include information and referral, short-term assistance, selected individual and legal representation, systemic advocacy, monitoring, and training.

Michigan Family Voices is a grassroots collaborative that exists to identify and mobilize current and new family member and individual leaders to create a network of individuals with special health care needs and their families across the state that will impact and effect positive change in policy. The group will create and maintain a statewide network of leaders to inform, build relationships with and/or work in partnership with decision-makers at all levels.

Michigan Dyslexia Institute

Dyslexia is an invisible problem with language that is present at birth and continues throughout life for those with it. Without recognition and appropriate instruction, children with dyslexia will struggle with, or fail to read and write; this is in spite of their average or in many cases, above average intelligence. MDI has been successfully teaching children with dyslexia for over 33 years. Providing remedial and preventative instruction, we have helped thousands of children with dyslexia. Includes camp program, Camp Starlight.

Michigan Division on Deaf and Hard of Hearing

This state office concentrates on helping to improve the lives of Michigan's Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing citizens. Our mission is affirming the indisputable right of persons who are Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing to secure effective communication. It receives input from its 13-member citizens Advisory Council appointed by the Governor. Services include Technical Support, Information and Referral, Accommodations, Interpreter Information and Services.
