Michigan Coalition for Deaf and Hard of Hearing People

The mission of the Coalition is to provide a forum to promote networking, communication, and information sharing, collaboration and service delivery through the mutual efforts of its diverse membership. To put it simply, we are a dedicated group of people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing, working together to improve life in Michigan for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

The College Accessibility for Visually Impaired Students addresses visually impaired college students’ most common concerns, including: School resources and legal rights as a student with a disability, Scholarships available only to blind and visually impaired students; Assistive technologies for students with visual impairments.

Michigan Genomic and Genetic Disorders Section

The Michigan Genetics Resource Center is a public health education service. The site is designed to share Michigan and national resources in order to promote population health through the appropriate use of genetic information and services. Clinical genetic service and support group directories, teaching tools, and information for policy makers are available as well as Michigan and national program descriptions and links.

Family Support Subsidy Program

The Family Support Subsidy (FSS) Program provides financial assistance to families that include a child with severe developmental disabilities. The intent is to help make it possible for children with developmental disabilities to remain with or return to their birth or adoptive families. The program provides a monthly payment. Families are able to use this money for special expenses incurred while caring for their child.
