Preferred Supports

Preferred Employment & Living Supports (PELS) provides high-quality care, training and opportunities for people with disabilities, mental illness and other life challenges. They are are CARF-accredited and partner with many of Western Michigan's leading health care, mental health and human services agencies. Their affiliations with key organizations also provide us access to interpreters and sign language specialists. They work with many of the region's employers and nonprofit organizations to help provide them with trained, reliable and valuable employees.

Benjamin’s Hope

Benjamin's Hope is a faith based non-profit leader in creating innovative options for adults affected by autism and developmental disability. A thriving example of public/private partnership, they offer essential services such as housing, social clubs, and meaningful day programming partially funded through public healthcare dollars and supported by faithful giving from community members.

Fellinlove Farm is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides outdoor activities, socialization and educational opportunities through a unique interactive experience with diverse animals for people of all ages and abilities. Gracious Grounds

Gracious Grounds is a 501 c3 non profit that emphasize life-enriching activities and togetherness by promoting: community involvement, inclusion, employability skills and opportunities, daily living skills, and spirituality. They provide a range of services, including supportive residential living to meaningful employment and educational and social opportunities within the community.

Association for Person in Supported Employment (APSE)

MIAPSE is a state chapter of the APSE. Members are dedicated to the growth and expansion of supported and customized employment.

APSE-The Network on Employment is a national and state membership organization formed to improve and expand integrated employment opportunities, services, and outcomes for persons with significant disabilities. APSE is an organization for Supported Employees, Employers, Family Members, Providers and Advocates.
MIAPSE provides training to vocational rehabilitation professionals in Michigan. In addition, the members advocate for fully inclusive community employment.

Children’s Healing Center

The Children's Healing Center is a year-round recreation facility providing social and emotional healing for kids with weakened immune systems and their families in a safe, clean environment. The Center is an oasis for members to step away from the stress of a complex medical diagnosis to experience the healing power of Good. Clean. Fun.® With a focus on socialization, play-therapy, recreation and education, kids, young adults and families have a safe space to express themselves, interact with others and feel a sense of belonging. Families who use the Center have at least one qualifying child who is immune compromised, which often limits them from visiting public places for fear of getting sick. There are two locations- one in Grand Rapids and one in Ypsilanti.

A Kid Again- Michigan

A Kid Again Michigan serves families who are raising children living with life-threatening conditions across the entire state of Michigan. They do so by providing cost-free, fun-filled destination events throughout the year that they call Adventures. Through these Adventures, families can take a break from doctor visits and hospital stays and enjoy quality time together. Adventures are all 100% free. Their goal is to take care of everything so you can focus on enjoying time with your family. Enrollment is open to families with children under 20 years of age whose diagnosis is deemed life-threatening by a medical professional.
