Deaf Community Advocacy Network

Deaf Community Advocacy Network (DEAF C.A.N.!) provides services to the thousands of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people living in our area. DEAF C.A.N.! offers direct client services to individuals and families, as well as community education and information for professional groups. DEAF C.A.N.! provides a full array of services to the Deaf & Hard of Hearing communities in southeastern Michigan.

The mission of the Autism Support of Michigan is to assure full participation and self-determination in every aspect of life for each individual. We will realize this vision by opening avenues of self-advocacy and advocating on behalf of others in a way that values equity, respect, dignity and diversity in all communities. ASM is committed to empowering individuals with autism and their families by offering educational resources and materials, workshops, seminars and other services. ASM advocates “Making Human Connections” in a supportive, integrated community is a right of all persons.

Easterseals has been helping individuals with disabilities and special needs, and their families, live better lives for nearly 100 years. From child development centers to physical rehabilitation and job training for people with disabilities, Easterseals offers a variety of services to help people with disabilities address life’s challenges and achieve personal goals.

Autism Society of West Shore

The Autism Support of West Shore (ASWS) provides the Hope newsletter, a quarterly newsletter featuring family interviews, summaries of relevant ASWS events and calendar of activities locally and around the state; monthly informal social groups for parents, families, and those who care about individuals with autism to meet, drink coffee, eat, and tal; regular meetings featuring guest speakers and workshops. Scholarships are available to qualified families to assist with education, equipment, and treatment. ASWS also provides resource information and networking.

Disability Network/Michigan represents the collective voice of Michigan’s 15 Centers for Independent Living (CILs). Our focus is on leadership development, relationship building, effective communication and mobilizing around issues that will have the greatest impact on delivering high-quality independent living services to people with disabilities.


Disability Service Resource Center

The Disability Services Resource Center (DSRC), formerly known as the Bay County Society for Crippled Children and Adults serves individuals who are temporarily and permanently disabled by helping them remain and/or become part of their community to the fullest extent of their ability. DSRC offers five main programs through the organization that are at no cost to the consumer. The five main programs are Ramp Building, Campership, Disability Awareness Training, Medical Loan Closet, Adaptive Sports/Sporting events.
