The Friendship Circle

Friendship Circle of Michigan is a non-profit organization affiliated with Lubavitch of Michigan. Friendship Circle provides assistance and support to 3,000 individuals with special needs and their families by providing recreational, social, educational and vocational programming. Friendship Circle also provides support to individuals and families struggling with isolation, addiction and other family-related crises.

Partnership Place

We are a church in Jackson focused on serving our community. Communities services provided include: Food pantry on the 3rd Friday of each month, 10am-12pm, Baby clothes and diaper giveaway on the 3rd Friday of each month, 10am-12pm at the Biddle St. entrance, Emergency food, Hot showers, Community dance on the last Saturday of the month, 7-9pm, and Community dinners on the Tuesday following the food pantry.

The Samaritan Fund provides financial assistance toward utility shutoffs and evictions.

NORSE.FIRES Facebook Support Group

Online Facebook support group for NORSE.FIRES. This is the official Facebook group of the Norse Institute and is a private group that must be joined. This group is moderated and administered by medical professionals and families who have experienced NORSE firsthand.

Group Objectives:

1) To raise awareness of NORSE and FIRES as its subcategory.

2) To advertise the NORSE institute as a resource for families, patients, and clinicians.

3) To create a forum for socialization and meaningful connection that is scientifically accurate as well as supportive to families / patients experiencing this condition.

Advocates for Mental Health of Michigan Youth are a parent-led, grassroots group working on behalf of youth in need of complex mental health support and services in Michigan. Their goal is to improve the mental health system for children and adolescents who need the highest level of support. They have come together to share their stories and foster positive change within a broken system.

Detroit Parent Network

The Detroit Parent Network Is Michigan’s Premier Parent Engagement Organization That Educates, Equips And Empowers Parents As Champions For Their Children And For Change In Their Schools And Community. Detroit Parent Network is a membership network of more than 1,200 parents serving low-income families that are predominantly African American and Latino. DPN works to improve parent involvement in education, which is proven to promote child success. A feature of DPN’s core programs is elevating parents to personal transformation which elevates their own pathway to literacy, workforce development and helps them support the aspirations of their children. DPN’s Core Parent Power Trainings are Parent Leadership, Parent Advocacy, Parenting Education (Love & Logic), Facilitator Training, and programs that foster a parent’s involvement in their child’s education. Central to DPN’s model is the recruitment, support and training of parents as peer-peer trainers that go on to become Home-based Early Childhood Literacy Coaches, and Train other Parents in early childhood to high school and college settings.

Mimi’s Mission

Mimi’s Mission is a local non-profit organization that helps Downriver families who have autistic children or adults. The goal of the organization is to provide unique programs and resources to autistic individuals and their families.


Mimi’s Mission provides assistance to families with autistic children and adults who live in the following Downriver communities: Allen Park, Brownstown Charter Township, Ecorse, Flat Rock, Gibraltar, Grosse Ile Township, Huron Charter Township, Lincoln Park, Melvindale, River Rouge, Riverview, Rockwood, Romulus, Southgate, Taylor, Trenton, Woodhaven, and Wyandotte.

Programs include: Autism Optimism (for parents of newly diagnosed children with autism); Autism Acceptance Group (a parent-driven support group that offers socialization, meetings, dinner, demonstrations and/or activities); Downriver Young adults (a program similar to the Autism Acceptance Group, for autistic individuals between 17-30 yrs old); Downriver Do-Gooders (a FB group to connect Downriver residents to free household, clothing, and other needs); and a 911Ready Program to help Parents and First Responders.

Advocacy & Consultation for Children’s Education Services & Support

A C C E S S Education provides professional education advocacy and consultation services for parents, caregivers, providers and support agencies. Professional Advocate Service to help with IEP Meetings, Special Education, 504 Plans, Suspension, Expulsion, Behavior and Manifestations. This is a paid service, however they do offer a sliding scale for clients.
