Offers various social opportunities and summer day camps for children and adults with physical or developmental disabilities.
Kids on The Go offers physical, occupational and speech therapies in a fun “summer camp” setting, plus recreational activities such as bike riding, story tellers and baseball skills camps for children with Individual Education Plans.
Located on 50 acres offering year round, therapeutic riding. Also offers Smiles on Saddles day camp. Clarkston,
Oakland University Center for Autism Research, Education and Support offers programs, special events, and recreation for children of all ages and families experiencing autism spectrum disorders, plus a variety of camps for children ages 3-18 with autism and an employable skill building program for adults with autism.
Offers adaptive basketball & bowling and social recreation for all ages and abilities. Also offers RARA SCAMP Summer Camp for young people with special needs design for campers that can be successful in a 3:1 camper/staff ratio.
The organization offers 6 week caregiver trainings to build family efficacy and advocacy skills.
The annual Autism Hero Walk raises funds for crucial programming in the state of Michigan. Autism Alliance of Michigan is leading Michigan on the path to becoming a top 5 state in which to raise a child with autism. The Walk begins with an energetic opening ceremony followed by a 1-mile walk through the Detroit Zoo. Immediately following the walk, attendees are encouraged to enjoy a day at the Zoo and post-walk activities at the events pavilion.
Pioneer Trails provides recreation and leisure opportunities for people of all abilities to enhance the quality of life through various camps.
Renew Therapeutic Riding Center provides equine assisted activities and therapies to children and adults with physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities. Through the programs offered by Renew, our riders see improvement in balance, flexibility, strength and muscle tone. Riders also achieve cognitive, social and emotional development resulting in increased self-esteem and independence.
