Giving Tree started 12 years ago as a community garden for people with disabilities. The farm is now owned and operated by Community Based Interventions. CBI runs a vocational training and rehabilitation program on the farm site. Monday through Friday people who have suffered Traumatic Brain Injuries help grow fresh & healthy produce for CSA members, area restaurants, the East Lansing Food Co-op and local farmer’s markets.
The Asthma Network of West Michigan (ANWM) is the local asthma coalition serving West Michigan. ANWM provides two levels of service: 1) Home-based case management of children and adults with uncontrolled asthma or adults with COPD; and 2) Community education support for health care professionals and school personnel regarding managing asthma in under-served populations.
FAR Therapeutic Arts and Recreation is a non-sectarian, nonprofit organization that provides services for people of all ages who have physical, intellectual and/or emotional challenges. FAR also promotes public understanding of the abilities and potential of people with such challenges.
Opportunities for music education and music therapy are available to people of all ages with special needs. Through music programming at CMS, individuals with special needs have found joy, new friendships, and have made progress in the acquisition of motor, verbal, communication and social skills through music.
Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan (CLF) is a statewide organization that provides education, financial assistance and emotional support to Michigan families affected by leukemia, lymphoma and related blood disorders. Common Ground is a 24-hour crisis services agency dedicated to helping youths, adults, and families in crisis. Through our crisis line and in person, we provide professional and compassionate service to more than 80,000 people each year. Origami Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center provides comprehensive brain injury treatment from residential (18 years and older), Day Program, Outpatient, and Community Based Programs for individuals who have sustained a traumatic brain injury. We utilize a holisitic, interdisciplinary team approach to treating brain injury.

Deaf Community Advocacy Network (DEAF C.A.N.!) provides services to the thousands of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people living in our area. DEAF C.A.N.! offers direct client services to individuals and families, as well as community education and information for professional groups. DEAF C.A.N.! provides a full array of services to the Deaf & Hard of Hearing communities in southeastern Michigan.
