Disability Network Eastern Michigan is the disability resource of the thumb and works with individuals, their families and other organizations and agencies to help people with disabilities live independently. This includes information and referrals, advocacy services, peer support, independent living skills, and transition services.
The mission of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is to attain optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. This website contains information on advocacy and policy for families at the federal, state and community levels. Some key topics include, and are not limited to improving children’s access to care, nutrition, protecting immigrant children, childhood immunizations and promoting children’s mental health.
Provides a wide variety of speech, OT, social skills and behavioral therapy programs for children ages 0-17. Also offers summer camp programs focusing on developing speech and language skills, social skills, gross and fine motor skills and handwriting skills.
TRI is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that provides children and adults with disabilities with the opportunity to experience the joy of horseback riding. We offer group and private riding lessons, ground lessons (grooming, tacking, and showmanship), day tours and day programming for groups, and many more.
Our staff provides information, referrals, support, and advocacy services to people with a wide variety of disabilities, both visible and invisible. We also work on a larger scale, helping local businesses, and other organizations to make changes that improve life for everyone in the community.
Mary Free Beds Wheelchair & Adaptive Sports program offers you a variety of co-ed, competitive teams and clinics designed for patients and community members with limited mobility and other physical impairments.
Capital Area Michigan Works! (CAMW) is a network of resources for employers and career seekers. CAMW partnerS with businesses to develop recruiting and retention strategies, and they partner with job seekers to enhance education and career opportunities. Capital Area Michigan Works! has three Job Centers in Charlotte, Lansing and St. Johns that provide mid-Michigan employers and career seekers with the best resources to fulfill their employment needs.
The mission of Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America – Michigan Chapter (AAFA-MI) is to improve quality of life for individuals and communities affected by asthma and allergic diseases through education, training, advocacy, medical management, and environmental greening.
