This workshop is for families of students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) who are in middle school or high school. We will provide you with information and resources to start planning for the future now.

We’ll look closely at

  • Educational Development Plan (EDP)
  • Graduation standards
  • Diploma vs Certificate of Completion
  • Transition page of the IEP
  • Rights and responsibilities

Learn how high school classes and the school environment can develop important skills and build pre-employment knowledge.

Who should attend? Families with a child with disabilities or learning challenges, school staff, other community members

Serious Emotional Disturbances Waiver (SEDW)

The Children's Serious Emotional Disturbances Waiver (SEDW) provides services that are enhancements or additions to Medicaid State Plan coverage for children through age 20 with SED. The SEDW is a fee-for-service program administered by the Community Mental Health Services Programs (CMHSP) in some Michigan counties. All eligibility requirements and coverage areas are listed on the site.

Lutheran Social Services of Michigan

Organization that provides a variety of services, including behavioral health services and disability support services, including Life Skills Development, Activities of Daily Living Management, Case Management Liaison, Family Support, Transportation, Medication Reminders, Individual Service Planning, Structured Activities, Community Integration, Program Evaluation and Continuous Quality Improvement, Advocacy Services, 24-Hour On-Call Support, Respite, and Person-Centered Care.

Lights Up Sound Down-Sensory Friendly Movies at Goodrich Quality Theaters

A monthly program, hosted by Goodrich Quality Theaters, open to everyone, but specifically giving families & children with Autism and sensory issues the opportunity to enjoy their favorite movies in a comfortable, sensory - friendly setting with the lights turned up and volume turned down in the auditorium.

Wings of Mercy of East Michigan

Wings of Mercy is a volunteer pilot organization that assists patients in need of transportation to distant medical facilities.

Michigan Community Dental Clinics

Michigan Community Dental Clinics has several dental clinics located throughout the state that provide dental services to adults and children on Medicaid, as well as low-income, non-insured individuals. Non-Medicaid patients are provided dental services at a reduced fee.
