This in person event will develop an understanding of The Present Level of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) Statement. Understand that IEPs cover access to and participation in: • The General Education Curriculum • Extra-curricular activities • Non-academic activities Understand the IEP: Overview, Focus on PLAAFP • Written to ensure success • Sources of data Understand the 4 components/cornerstones of a well written PLAAFP.
There will also be time for networking with other parents.
Who should attend? Families with a child with disabilities or learning challenges, school staff, other community members.
The Children's Serious Emotional Disturbances Waiver (SEDW) provides services that are enhancements or additions to Medicaid State Plan coverage for children through age 20 with SED. The SEDW is a fee-for-service program administered by the Community Mental Health Services Programs (CMHSP) in some Michigan counties. All eligibility requirements and coverage areas are listed on the site.
